This started as an experiment to see if I could make what I see as improvements to an already legandary show.
My first introduction to this show was on a poorly genned cassette back in 1989. In The early 90's I found the Red Phantom CD "Rock's Hottest Ticket" and literally lost my mind thinking I had scored the Holy Grail of bootlegs.
Fast Track to the internet age and U2 Torrents. The original master tape had been transfered and uploaded and boy was I in for a treat!
For the first time I realized that all circulating bootlegs of this show were from an inferior generation copy.
I have heard many remasters of this and for the most part enjoy each for what they offer. This is my take on it.

I always wanted to hear this as close to soundboard as possible. The room reverb was my primary concern so I endeavoured to try and minimize it.
As a drummer, I always wanted some more punch and attack from Larry. So boosted the drums a few db.

*THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE* I can fully understand why some may have issue with what I have done for this remaster.

Show downloaded from U2Torrents Joshua Tree Tour folder as described in the original torrent info file.

Files were converted to wav. (16bit) and I used Izotope RX9 for the following:
- Azimuth alignment
- DeReverb module to eliminate some low end room and boom
- Rebalance module to boost drums and vocals
- rendered new wav files

I used Logic Pro to edit and compile a new composite recording with the following adjustments:
- Fade In/Out at beginning and end of concert only
- Volume corrections during Streets and Mothers to fix level flucuations in original files
- Cut/edit false start to Trip, intro to God's Country edited and compiled from what audio existed on master
- Fixed various track starts that were choppy in the original master files
- Removed audience banter right before the first vocals of Running as this really always bugged me!(So does the whistling in Running however I couldn't remove that with great effect)
- Rendered new wav files

I used Izotope Ozone 9 Advanced to master to my liking, applying EQ, Dynamic EQ, and raising overall loudness and slightly controlling the dynamic range.
