This mini-bootleg documents the opening sequence of U2’s
intimate club performance at the Man Ray in Paris in 2000 : the 4 songs off
ATYCLB played that nite.
The audio comes from NRJ french radio (who was missioned by U2 to set the
concert) and is sourced from a soundboard feed. It is currently impossible to
confirm whether this is a genuine pre-FM source ; however, the absence of DJ
talk and jingles suggests that a pre-FM lineage is possible.
This release is not 100% complete. Interview (band by NRJ)
is not included here. But it exists and circulates over the internet.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON AUDIO FORMAT & CONDITION

This recording is NOT lossless. The source originates from
MP3 files collected by myself online, back in the early 2000s...! Cover art was
found on u2gigs.com and is actually the original covert art made by french fan
site u2achtung.com. At that time, I converted these files to WAV and burned them
onto a CD-R for playback on a standalone CD player and... for preservation
purpose but I have to admit that this latest objective could not really be
met...! The original CD-R used was a low-grade consumer disc (!) and has
naturally degraded over the years. As a result, a brief scratching noise can be
heard during the very first seconds of the opening track (“Elevation”). This
artifact is most likely caused by CD-R wear rather than by the original lossy
encoding. The noise quickly disappears and becomes inaudible once Bono starts
singing.
These files are brought to you with kind and special
permission by u2torrents whose team gave approval on an exceptional basis since
a lossless version is not available at the moment my files are being shared. If
a true lossless or confirmed pre-FM source surfaces in the future, then this
edition should be considered obsolete.
